At The Laurel, we are committed to supporting our students through high-quality teaching and a positive, inclusive culture that promotes mental wellbeing, physical health and healthy relationships. Through our curriculum, pastoral support and daily school life, pupils learn how to care for their mental and physical health, recognise when they or others may need support, and understand how to build respectful, safe and positive relationships. Our approach is age-appropriate, evidence-based and embedded across the school, helping pupils to develop resilience, confidence and the skills they need to thrive both now and in the future. Healthy Minds
To support the mental health of our students, we have teamed up with the NHS’ mental health provider for young people, Kooth. Kooth provides free, safe and anonymous online support and counselling by trained experts. More information can be found in the letter below.

We are determined to educate all of our young people here at The Laurel Academy so that they can make informed decisions about living a healthy lifestyle. Through our EPC, Food Technology and Physical Education Curriculum, students are given the resources to help support their understanding of what it means to maintain their physical health.
